What is Power Flushing

Power Flushing is a process by which heating systems are cleansed from sludge (rust) by using chemicals with a Power Flushing pump. We connect Power Flush machine and filter to your central heating system pipe work. Then flush the whole system without removing any additional radiators. The process makes no mess and courses minimal disturbance to the home. At the end of the Power Flushing process, the system contains fresh clean water.Power flushing is a more efficient and quicker way of cleaning a central heating system. It consists of flushing through all the system using water (and usually a cleaning agent) at high velocity, but low pressure, so that no physical damage is caused to the system.

 Fitting new boilers    

It is prudent to power flush a heating system immediately before running a new boiler on an existing system to prevent possible future problems. Many systems are found to contain corrosion and sludge, even if no flow problems have yet shown themselves.

Existing debris is often mobilised by alterations to the system/piping and the increased efficiency of the new boiler, and may then accumulate in the boiler heat exchanger, causing noisy operation, reduced efficiency and, in extreme circumstances, failure of the boiler. The high efficiency and compactness of modern boilers, developed to minimise fuel costs and pollution, means that they are more susceptible to problems caused by debris in the system water.It is important that all sludge is first removed from the system as it could accumulate in the new boiler cause damage and invalidate your warranty.

Does my existing Central Heating System need a Power Flush? 

If your central heating system has any of the following symptoms, it probably needs a power flush.

Radiator water is dirty,System is slow to heat up,Radiators need frequent bleeding ,Boiler failure or lockout,Boiler noisy,Pump failure /Pump noise,Some radiators are partially or completely cold ,Blocked radiators ,Pinhole leaks from radiators.

These problems are result of inertial corrosion scale and sludge forming within your central heating system. Power Flushing is the only way to give your system a new lease of life and is by for the cheapest option in the long run.

This picture below is a classic example of our powerflushing set up, the machine is connected to the water mains and the, the waste is then taken away into the main drains as seen.Therefore all the mess of the machine/ chemicals and drainage is outside the property.

 In the picture below you see that the extra long flow and return powerflush hoses are connected into the main arteries of the system via a window with minimal mess and disruption.

This picture below shows the 'Magnaclean Powerflushing filters' we use inline conected to our Powerflush machine. This gives an extra cleaning element to our work by working  together with the powerflushing machine attracting all the debris coming from system clinging to to the powerful magnets as seen in the next picture

The picture below shows one of the 'Magnaclean' magnet cartridges removed with debris from the system clung to it. These two magnets are cleaned every ten minutes during a Powerflush clean.

 All This ensures a very thorough Power flush of your system.
